Why the US military doesn’t need drones anymore
A new report by the Government Accountability Office has identified the military’s reliance on drones to help track terrorist targets as the worst in the world.
The GAO’s analysis comes after a U.S. Navy pilot accidentally shot himself in the face with a drone in July.
The pilot later told investigators that he thought the drone was a toy.
The drone, which the pilot was using to film a mock-up of a possible terrorist attack, was later removed from the flight path and is now being replaced by a larger drone.
